Ogden Nature Center

The

Ogden Nature Center recently visited our 1st grade class to teach them about (desert, forest and wetland) animals, habitats and adaptations.  After reviewing vocabulary terms students were asked to think of “I wonder” statements and make observations by stating “I noticed” sentences.  For most students, their most memorable moment was meeting Harry, a Great Basin Gopher Snake.  They learned that these snakes, often called Blow Snakes, like to mimic rattlesnakes, smell with their tongues and burrow in gopher holes to find food & shelter.
