Red Ribbon Week was October 30th to November 3rd. Students dressed up every day for the week to promote drug awareness. All students and teachers were invited to participate. Red Ribbon Week was put together by the CMS student council. On Monday, everyone wore pajamas to school, too tired for drugs. Tuesday was Halloween, and we wore our costumes to scare off drugs! On Wednesday was student teacher swap day. It was fun to see teachers dress up like the students, and students like teachers. There were many 7th graders dressed as Mr. McClain, the Utah Studies teacher 7th grade. Thursday was team up against drugs, jersey day. Everyone wore a sports jersey to school. Friday was twin day, and we saw lots of amazing twinning outfits! It was fun to have a week to promote drug awareness, and to have everyone dress up for fun!
At lunch the student council had lots of fun activities to support Red Ribbon Week. Students could sign the anti-bullying pledge poster. On Halloween, the student council held a costume contest with a prize of a bag of chips. There was a trivia on student teacher swap day, where students had to answer drug related facts. Face paint was done on Thursday. On Friday, the resource officers came down to the lunchroom to help the student council with drunk goggles. Students had fun performing simple activities with goggles that simulate being drunk. Thanks to student council and Mrs. Smith (advisor) for creating such a fun week for everyone!
