On Saturday, February 24th the CMS jazz group participated in the Southern Utah Jazz Festival at the Heritage Center in Cedar City. Our jazz group, lead by Mr. Jordan, played 3 pieces which were reviewed by three judges, all esteemed musicians. After the performance the judges came on stage and gave feedback to our students. When one judge asked our students what makes jazz music different than classical music, she said it's "upbeat and groovy". Many of the students walked up to the front of the stage for solo parts throughout the jazz pieces. Overall our CMS jazz group put on an amazing performance at the Jazz Festival.
Last week the CMS band classes performed their Pop's Concerts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
