percussion classroom

Before Spring Break, our band director, Mr. Ball and the 8th grade students pulled an April’s Fools prank on his advisory percussion ensemble. In the middle of rehearsing one of the songs, the 8th graders in the class purposefully began messing up the music to get Mr. Ball mad. After a while, Mr. Ball began pretend yelling at the 8th graders, who then started talking back. After the student teacher walked in, the students continued to talk back to the student teacher and Mr. Ball. This was all an act though as the 8th graders started to be “kicked out of class” and “sent to the office,” until the class was just a few spooked 7th graders. The rest of the class came back in with Mr. Ball, and they revealed the joke to the percussion class.

Later, that Friday just before Spring Break two 7th graders decided to get back at Mr. Ball. During school and with permission from the office, the 7th graders went into the parking lot with sticky notes, and started their prank. When Mr. Ball went to his car, he found it covered in sticky notes! Hundreds of multicolored sticky notes covered the whole car.

This is a good example of being able to have fun with teachers. Mr. Ball said, “If we can have fun with them, they can have fun with us.” This shows that having fun with the teachers is possible with harmless jokes. We hope you had a great Spring Break, and an April Fool’s Day full of laughter and fun pranks like these!
