On September 24th the students at Cedar Middle School got the chance to go to their first enrichment activity of the year. The activity was to watch the K9 dogs that can find, memorize, track smells and so much more. The K-9 officers showed us their three dogs, Rooster, Thunder, and Snitch. They were so cute. The students that got to go had the chance to see one of the officers get bitten, while wearing this suit that protects them from getting harmed. The dogs are trained to attack and hold criminals, showing the students what else they could do, in that profession, to help the officers out in the field catching the bad guys.
How enrichment activities work is, the students that don’t have any F’s D’s N’s or U’s or missing quizzes, they have the option to go to an activity twice a month. All they have to do is get a pink paper and write down their grades on the paper to show to their advisory teacher and ask them to sign/stamp it. Then you’ll get flagged by your advisory teacher and on the day of that enrichment, your third period teacher will tell you if you’re flagged to enrichment. Then you’ll head to the gym, or wherever the enrichment is being held, give them the pink slip, take your seat and have fun once the activity starts, in this case, K9’s and their officers!
