Cedar Middle School had an amazing Hope Week!

Hope Week in schools is usually led by the Hope Squad which is a group designed to raise mental health awareness and foster a positive school culture. It typically features themed spirit days, acts of kindness, and activities focused on connection, encouraging students to support one another and seek help when needed. We are so grateful that Hope Squad could put on great activities for the students.

Monday was Disney day (let it go of negativity). Tuesday was  jersey day (team up with optimism). Wednesday was camo day (hunting for positivity). Thursday was white out day (let in the light keep out the dark). Friday was dress to impress (look good to feel good). We thank our hope squad for setting up these fun days. If you see a hope squad member in the halls, make sure to say hi! They also put on a Hope week assembly at the end of the day.

Hope Squad invited the Stand 4 Kind organization to come to our school to present a leadership training assembly. Leadership groups from CMS and other schools were invited to come. The training was a great way for students to learn how to become future leaders. The presentation taught us about how to be a great leader, how to be kind, how to have a Victor attitude, instead of a Victim attitude, and so much more! There were activities where you had to make up a real life situation, where you had to practice standing up 4 kind, and practicing being a leader. There was bead making and the Pinkie Promise signing. There were lots of snacks, and a big shoutout to Philip Enkey for coming to our school, and singing motivational songs.

At the end of the school day Stand 4 Kind did an assembly for all the CMS students. Another representative from the Stand 4 Kind group, Josh Allen, talked about 3 principles when life gets hard, and shared some stories from his personal experience. We appreciate all the leaders who came to our school.
