On 9/11 we had an assembly that included the music departments, student council, and hope squad. This program was live streamed to the classrooms, so that all the students could join in. We retired a flag with help from Sergeant Vigill. When we retired the flag a few select students burned each stripe one at a time while Sergeant Vigill explained what each stripe represents. It was a patriotic moment of honor and sadness. The orchestra played the Star Spangled Banner, the band played Hymn To The Fallen, and the choir sang Thankfully. Thank you to all who participated and for the silence that was there while we retired the flag.
