On Friday, October 2nd there was a statewide read-a-thon promoted by Governor Cox and First Lady Cox. Many students participated at CMS by picking up a book, finding a comfy spot and reading for awhile.
“A book gives us a chance to slow down, spend time together and discover something new,” First Lady Abby Cox said. “I hope families will carry that excitement home. Let your kids choose a story, read with them and make it a part of your day you can all look forward to.” from a press release on the governor's official website.
We're glad that our students could participate in this first statewide read-a-thon and hope reading will be a life long enjoyment.
