Our school has an amazing band, orchestra, and percussion program, and last week was concert week for the 6th, 7th, & 8th graders on October 6th and 8th 2026. The bands had 4 conductors leading the songs. They were Mr. Jordan, Mr. Ball, Mr. Palmer, and an SUU student teacher, Mr. Fowtes. The band teachers were pleased with the performances.
Mr. Ball said, “It was overall pretty good for their age group.”
On October 6th, the 6th grade Warrior band and percussion performed and afterwards, the 6th grade advanced band with percussion. Then on October 7th, the Orchestra had a concert with all four classes conducted by Mrs. Carrigan and SUU student teacher, Ms. Alexander. The music had a spooky theme.
Then finally, on October 8th, the JV Band played first, followed by the concert band. Then Percussion and Jazz performed, then last but not least, Symphonic Band.
The Jazz band was taking turns with the percussion, Jazz playing one song, and then the percussion playing a song, 4 songs each group. The Jazz students had 6 soloists who had to make up their solos, and their names were Grant, Emma, Logan, Austin, Sam ,and Thora.
Logan said, “It sounded great for the short time we had to practice.”
We appreciate all the time and effort parents, teachers and students put into making our music program amazing!
The Choir concert was performed on Tuesday, October 13 led by Mrs. Piep.
