Each concert has a different theme, the first theme is patriotic in all the bands. Thirty minutes before the concert the students get their instruments ready. The bleachers are always packed with parents and family ready to be amazed by the many musicians. A week or so before the students have been practicing hard to get their songs ready.
In Concert Band, my class, we didn’t have percussion with us during regular class time. At the two rehearsals before our concert it was fun to play with the percussion. The previous year everyone tried to fit inside the band room and record all our songs to make a CD. This year they recorded live at the concert and emailed the music files to parents to share. Families can still make a donation at the concerts if they would like to.
Sometimes it can be very challenging for the amazing three band
teachers to teach over 450 students. Everything our CMS bands do wouldn’t
be possible if it weren't for the band teachers!
